My first rendered animation, sort of a test for me. I realize now that I should have added more motion to her lekku, because they seem to be a little petrified. This was also supposed to have music but there are only 60 frames, which last all of 2 seconds, and then loop. The song hardly has time to begin, lol. Anyways here's a link to the song I had in mind when I made this (Alli Simpson, Notice Me): www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt7SmM…. I would have made it longer but I can't stand to be without my computer for too long (addicted :(). Rendering time: 3h57m12s

Hope you enjoy it. :)

Very nice start :)
I agree with you on the Lekku... but you know what would REALLY sell it: The Face.
Almost scarily stiff and blank there (would send you to examples that I have seen, but that would violate DA's rules! lol)
As for GIF size, either GFYCat (it is a website that converts GIFs to HTML5 usable) or SWF format to shrink it down.

Ya still have yet to send me a note on what you got your girls hooked up with for clothing! :)

Thanks for the kind words! I can only imagine (referring to what would violate DA's rules) LOL :) I will have to check out this HTML5... I have never heard of it before.

Sorry I forgot about the clothing... "Concealed Bodysuit Pants" from the "Concealed Bodysuit Armor Set". Nice and shiny in all the right places. :)

LOL Just wait until you learn all that I've learned. That render time is going to skyrocket as you explore the advanced tools. I sometimes wait 12 hours for a single frame to render. :D

This is very good for a first animation! You already have an eye for improvements. You mentioned the lekku in the description so I won't bother to talk about those. The loop is smooth and the motions are appropriate for dance without being too outlandish for standing still. Aside from the lekku and the lighting that I mentioned earlier I don't really have any criticisms. B-)

One thing that I like to do is find uses for the test stuff. This dance is short and sweet, on a loop and looks celebratory. If you convert this to an animated GIF and shrink it down so that the thumbnail was the same loop animation, just throw the text "Thanks for Watching!" on it somewhere and you have an animated small image to use for thanking people when they watch you. I know a few people who use short animated loops like that. Just a thought. ;)

Yeah... that thing I said about being addicted to the computer, I meant it. I made sure these rendered in under 4 minutes an image! I would simply die if I had to wait 12 hours :dead:

The hardest part was trying to figure out how to compile all of the images together and loop them at the right speed. Most programs out there don't allow you to set the speed low enough to get something that looks good. I ended up downloaded Adobe Flash Professional and got it to work with that.  I didn't think of the animated GIF thing though. That's a good idea (writing it down on the to-do list).

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it! :)

I'm putting some final touches tonight on an image that took four hours to render. The only thing worse than a render that takes so long to bake is having to do excessive post work once it's rendered.. Oh well. It's a labor of love. :D

I render animations as a video file and then have that converted into a Flash or GIF. I've never tried working with compiling individual frames. That sounds awfully tedious. Of course, I have Adobe After Effects which makes editing the video a lot easier for me. I guess we all have to find what works for us. Keep up the awesome work :)

I know. Sometimes I cringe just thinking about how much time I spend on this hobby! Thanks for the info! :)
